Natalia Jarząbek
Natalia Jarząbek schloss ihr Studium mit Auszeichnung an der Musikhochschule Krakau in der Klasse von Prof. Dr. h.c. Barbara Świątek-Żelazna ab und war Studentin der Hochschule für Musik in Weimar in der Klasse von Prof. Wally Hase. Sie hat auch an der Jagiellonen-Universität einen Masterabschluss in Mathematik erworben. Derzeit ist sie die erste Flötistin des Krakauer Philharmonieorchesters, Doktorandin an der Musikhochschule Krakau und Lehrerin für Orchesterexzerpte an der Karol-Szymanowski-Musikakademie in Katowice.
Das Thema ihrer Forschung ist das Problem des Zirkularatmens beim Spiel von Blasinstrumenten. Als Expertin auf diesem Gebiet inspiriert sie viele zeitgenössische Komponisten, die ihr zahlreiche Werke gewidmet haben. Sie ist auch die Autorin - zusammen mit ihrer Lehrerin, Prof. Barbara Świątek-Żelazna - des Buches "Infinity. Circular Breathing" und des Übungsbuches "Infinity" mit Übungen und Stücken zur Übung dieser Technik, das im Dezember 2020 veröffentlicht wurde.
Sie hat viele Vorträge über das Zirkularatmen weltweit gehalten (z. B. II. Polnischer Flötenkongress in Łódź 2019, Festival Universitario de Flauta Transversa in Mexiko 2019, Alexander Arutiunian International Wind Festival 2019, Online-Vorlesungen für die Flötenklasse von Prof. Wally Hase, Universität für Musik und darstellende Kunst Wien, Prof. Agata Igras, Musikakademie Warschau, III. Polnisches Flötenfestival 2020).
Ihre Fähigkeiten werden auf internationalen Wettbewerben hoch geschätzt. Sie erhielt viele Preise, Stipendien und Auszeichnungen, die ihre Leistungen würdigen. Natalia trat auf und unterrichtete auf Festivals wie dem British Flute Society's Flutastique! Festival, dem Adams Flute Festival 2017, dem Festival Universitario de Flauta Transversa in Mexiko, dem Alexander Arutiunian International Wind Festival, dem 31. Internationalen Festival der Krakauer Komponisten, dem Wawel o Zmierzchu Festival und dem Musikfestival in Łańcut. Sie arbeitete eng mit zahlreichen Sinfonieorchestern und Kammerensembles zusammen und trat in renommierten Veranstaltungsorten auf der ganzen Welt auf.
Im Jahr 2015 spielte Natalia ein Solo-Stück auf der CD des Grammy Award-Gewinners Włodek Pawlik ein. Im Jahr 2017 nahm sie gemeinsam mit dem belgischen Pianisten Pieter-Jan Verhoyen das Album "900 Miles" auf, das Werke polnischer und flämischer Komponisten enthält.
Im Jahr 2017 erhielten Natalia und Prof. Barbara Świątek-Żelazna den renommierten Preis Ars Quaerendi des Parlaments von Kleinpolen in der Kategorie Master-Student für herausragende Aktivitäten zur Entwicklung und Förderung von Kultur. Beide Gewinner beschlossen, diesen Preis der Erstellung eines Lehrbuchs zum Erlernen der Zirkularatmung und der Aufnahme einer CD zu widmen, die von dieser Technik inspiriert ist. Die CD "Infinity" wurde mit dem belgischen Pianisten Emmy Wils im Europäischen Musikzentrum Krzysztof Penderecki in Lusławice aufgenommen und im September 2019 von DUX veröffentlicht.
Seit 2017 ist Natalia auch Flötistin im Cracow Golden Quintet, mit dem sie den 2. Preis beim Stanisław-Moniuszko-Internationalen Wettbewerb für polnische Musik in Rzeszów 2019 gewonnen hat. Das Ensemble nahm das Album "Polish Wind Quintets" auf, das für den Fryderyk 2020 Award nominiert wurde.
Natalia spielt eine Miyazawa CS-9k Goldflöte.

Natalia Jarząbek graduated with a great distinction from the Academy of Music in Kraków in the class of Prof. Dr h.c. Barbara Świątek – Żelazna and was a student of Hochschule für Musik in Weimar in the class of Prof. Wally Hase. She also graduated from the Jagiellonian University with master degree in mathematics. Currently she is currently a principal flutist of the Krakow Philharmonic Orchestra, PhD student at the Academy of Music in Kraków and an orchestral excerpts teacher at The Karol Szymanowski Academy of Music in Katowice.
The topic of her research is the problem of circular breathing in performing wind instruments. As a specialist in this field she inspires many contemporaries composers who they dedicated numerous works to her. Also she is the author — together with her teacher, prof. Barbara of the book Infinity. Circular Breathing and the course book Infinity with exercises and pieces to practice this technique, released in December 2020.
She gave many lectures about circular breathing around the world (i.e. II Polish Flute Congress in Łódź, 2019, the Festival Universitario de Flauta Transversa in México 2019, the Alexander Arutiunian International Wind Festival 2019, online lectures for the flute class of Prof. Wally Hase, Universität für Musik und darstellende Kunst Wien, Prof. Agata Igras, University of Music in Warsaw, III Polish Flute Festival 2020).
Her abilities are highly regarded on international competitions. She received many prizes, scholarships and awards appreciating her achievements. Natalia performed and was teaching at festivals such as: British Flute Society ’s Flutastique! Festival, the 2017 Adams Flute Festival, the Festival Universitario de Flauta Transversa in México, the Alexander Arutiunian International Wind Festival, the 31st International Festival of Krakow Composers, Wawel o Zmierzchu Festival and the Music Festival in Łańcut. She has worked closely with numerous symphony orchestras and chamber ensembles, performing in renowned venues around the world.
In 2015 Natalia recorded a solo piece on the CD of Grammy Award`s winner Włodek Pawlik. In 2017 she recorded a CD 900 Miles with the Belgian pianist Pieter-Jan Verhoyen, featuring works by Polish and Flemish composers.
In 2017 together with Prof. Barbara Świątek - Żelazna, Natalia got a prestigious prize Ars Quaerendi of the Parliament of Lesser Poland in the Master - Student category for outstanding activities for the development and promotion of culture. Both winners decided to devote this prize to creating a textbook for learning circular breathing and recording a CD inspired by this technique . The CD Infinity was recorded with the Belgian pianist Emmy Wils at the Krzysztof Penderecki European Music Center in Lusławice and released by DUX in September 2019.
Since 2017, Natalia has also been a flutist of the Cracow Golden Quintet, with whom she won the 2nd prize at The Stanislaw Moniuszko International Polish Music Competition in Rzeszów, 2019. The ensemble recorded a CD Polish Wind Quintets, nominated to the Fryderyk 2020 Award.
