Etni Molletones
Etni Molletones is a Venezuelan flutist, Solo Flutist of the Badische Staatskapelle Karlsruhe, and Lecturer in Flute at the Hochschule für Musik Freiburg.
He began his musical education at the age of nine at the Conservatory “Blanca Estrella de Méscoli” in Yaracuy, Venezuela. In the same city, he became a member of the Symphony Orchestra at the age of 13. He later continued his studies at the Simón Bolívar Conservatory and graduated from the Universidad Central de Venezuela.
At the age of 16, he became Principal Flutist of the prestigious Simón Bolívar Symphony Orchestra of Venezuela. There, he performed under the baton of renowned conductors such as Claudio Abbado, Lorin Maazel, Sir Simon Rattle, Daniel Barenboim, Rafael Frühbeck de Burgos, Esa-Pekka Salonen, Nikolaus Harnoncourt, and Gustavo Dudamel.
With the orchestra, he took part in numerous international tours, performing in major venues including the Berlin Philharmonie, the Vienna Konzerthaus, Salle Pleyel in Paris, Teatro alla Scala in Milan, KKL Luzern, the Royal Albert Hall in London, Carnegie Hall in New York, and Walt Disney Concert Hall in Los Angeles. He also had the privilege of performing alongside internationally acclaimed soloists such as Martha Argerich, Lang Lang, Yuja Wang, Albrecht Mayer, Cecilia Bartoli, and Anna Larsson.
In addition, he has performed with orchestras such as the Los Angeles Philharmonic and the Royal Stockholm Philharmonic Orchestra and served as Principal Flutist of the Ibero-American Orchestra.
In 2017, Etni Molletones began studying with Prof. Mario Caroli in Strasbourg. In 2018, he completed his specialization with the distinction “très bien à l’unanimité avec félicitations du jury.” He then continued his studies at the Hochschule für Musik Freiburg, where he completed his Master’s degree in 2019 in the class of Prof. Mario Caroli.
Since arriving in Europe, Etni Molletones has received numerous awards at international competitions, including First Prize at the Jeune Flûtiste Competition in Paris, First Prize at the Dinu Lipatti Competition in Bucharest, First Prize at the Domenico Cimarosa Competition in Italy, and First Prize at the Concours Artistique d’Épinal in France. He was also awarded the Gold Medal at the Berliner International Music Competition and received the Pierre Pflimlin Prize in Strasbourg as the best student in chamber music and flute.
He has participated in important festivals including Hands on Research in Aveiro, Portugal, Flautissimo in Rome, the Nederlands Fluit Genootschap in the Netherlands, and the Young Flutists Festival in Slovenia.
As a soloist, he has performed with orchestras including the Sibiu Philharmonic, the Simón Bolívar Symphony Orchestra, the Orchestra di Camera Città di Fondi, and the Yaracuy Symphony Orchestra, among others.
Alongside his work as Solo Flutist of the Badische Staatskapelle Karlsruhe and Lecturer at the Hochschule für Musik Freiburg, he serves on the board of the cultural and educational foundation OPUS sounds and life, a non-profit organization through which he actively supports the musical and social development of young musicians in his home country.
Etni Molletones is a Miyazawa International Artist and performs on a Miyazawa 18k gold flute.
Etni Molletones ist ein venezolanischer Flötist, Solo-Flötist der Badischen Staatskapelle Karlsruhe und Lehrbeauftragter für Querflöte an der Hochschule für Musik Freiburg.
Seine musikalische Ausbildung begann er im Alter von neun Jahren am Konservatorium „Blanca Estrella de Méscoli“ in Yaracuy, Venezuela. Bereits mit 13 Jahren wurde er Mitglied des dortigen Sinfonieorchesters. Anschließend setzte er seine Studien am Simón-Bolívar-Konservatorium fort und schloss sein Studium an der Universidad Central de Venezuela ab.
Im Alter von 16 Jahren wurde er Solo-Flötist des renommierten Simón Bolívar Symphony Orchestra of Venezuela. Dort arbeitete er mit bedeutenden Dirigenten wie Claudio Abbado, Lorin Maazel, Sir Simon Rattle, Daniel Barenboim, Rafael Frühbeck de Burgos, Esa-Pekka Salonen, Nikolaus Harnoncourt und Gustavo Dudamel zusammen.
Mit dem Orchester unternahm er zahlreiche internationale Tourneen und konzertierte in bedeutenden Sälen wie der Berliner Philharmonie, dem Wiener Konzerthaus, der Salle Pleyel in Paris, dem Teatro alla Scala in Mailand, dem KKL Luzern, der Royal Albert Hall in London, der Carnegie Hall in New York sowie der Walt Disney Concert Hall in Los Angeles. Darüber hinaus musizierte er mit international renommierten Solistinnen und Solisten wie Martha Argerich, Lang Lang, Yuja Wang, Albrecht Mayer, Cecilia Bartoli und Anna Larsson.
Außerdem konzertierte er mit Orchestern wie dem Los Angeles Philharmonic und dem Royal Stockholm Philharmonic Orchestra und war Solo-Flötist des Ibero-American Orchestra.
2017 begann Etni Molletones sein Studium bei Prof. Mario Caroli in Straßburg. 2018 schloss er dort seine Spezialisierung mit der Auszeichnung „très bien à l’unanimité avec félicitations du jury“ ab. Anschließend setzte er seine Ausbildung an der Hochschule für Musik Freiburg fort und absolvierte dort 2019 seinen Master in der Klasse von Prof. Mario Caroli.
Seit seiner Ankunft in Europa wurde Etni Molletones bei zahlreichen internationalen Wettbewerben ausgezeichnet. Zu seinen Erfolgen zählen Erste Preise beim Jeune Flûtiste in Paris, beim Dinu Lipatti in Bukarest, beim Domenico Cimarosa in Italien sowie beim Concours Artistique d’Épinal in Frankreich. Darüber hinaus erhielt er die Goldmedaille beim Berliner International Music Competition sowie den Pierre-Pflimlin-Preis der Stadt Straßburg als bester Student in den Fächern Kammermusik und Flöte.

Etni Molletones ist Miyazawa International Artist und spielt eine Miyazawa 18 Karat Goldflöte.
