Katharina Kegler
Pianistin, Kammermusikerin und international gefragte Korrepetitorin
Katharina Kegler studierte bei Tibor Hazay in Freiburg und absolvierte anschließend die Meisterklasse bei John Perry in Houston, USA. Während eines sechsmonatigen Stipendiums am renommierten Banff Centre for Arts and Creativity in Kanada erhielt sie wichtige künstlerische Impulse von Gilbert Kalish und David Takeno.
Als Solistin, Kammermusikerin und Liedbegleiterin arbeitete sie mit namhaften Künstlern wie Martin Spangenberg, Diego Chenna und Mario Caroli zusammen. Mit dem Trompeter und Komponisten Anthony Plog widmete sie sich insbesondere der zeitgenössischen amerikanischen Musik. Mit dem Posaunisten Branimir Slokar verband sie eine langjährige Zusammenarbeit bei Meisterkursen und Konzerten.
Konzertreisen und Meisterkurse führten Katharina Kegler in zahlreiche europäische Länder sowie in den Nahen Osten, nach China, Kanada, Japan und Brasilien. Regelmäßig ist sie als offizielle Klavierbegleiterin beim Internationalen Musikwettbewerb der ARD tätig. Darüber hinaus ist sie eine gefragte Orchesterpianistin und begleitet Probespiele, unter anderem beim SWR Sinfonieorchester, beim Sinfonieorchester Basel und beim Qatar Philharmonic Orchestra.
Rundfunk- und Fernsehaufnahmen entstanden für France Musique, DRS Schweiz und RTV Slovenija; CD-Produktionen erschienen bei Ars Musici, Summit Records, Chrismon und Hänssler. Vortragskonzerte, beispielsweise über den Maler Paul Klee oder die kroatische Komponistin Dora Pejačević, ergänzen ihr vielseitiges künstlerisches Spektrum.
2012 gründete Katharina Kegler die Konzertreihe Musikfest Ebringen, deren künstlerische und organisatorische Leitung sie bis 2016 innehatte. Nach einer Vertretungsprofessur für Klavier ist sie seit 1992 als Korrepetitorin an der Hochschule für Musik Freiburg tätig.

Pianist, chamber musician, and internationally sought-after collaborative pianist
Katharina Kegler studied with Tibor Hazay in Freiburg and subsequently joined John Perry’s master class in Houston, USA. During a six-month scholarship at the renowned Banff Centre for Arts and Creativity in Canada, she received important artistic inspiration from Gilbert Kalish and David Takeno.
As a soloist, chamber musician, and collaborative pianist, she has worked with renowned artists including Martin Spangenberg, Diego Chenna, and Mario Caroli. Together with trumpeter and composer Anthony Plog, she focused particularly on contemporary American music. She also enjoyed a long-standing collaboration with trombonist Branimir Slokar in masterclasses and concerts.
Concert tours and masterclasses have taken Katharina Kegler to numerous European countries as well as the Middle East, China, Canada, Japan, and Brazil. She regularly serves as an official pianist at the ARD International Music Competition. She is also highly sought after as an orchestral pianist and as an accompanist for orchestral auditions, working with institutions including the SWR Symphony Orchestra, the Basel Symphony Orchestra, and the Qatar Philharmonic Orchestra.
Her radio and television recordings have been broadcast by France Musique, DRS Switzerland, and RTV Slovenija. CD recordings have been released by Ars Musici, Summit Records, Chrismon, and Hänssler. Lecture recitals exploring subjects such as the painter Paul Klee and the Croatian composer Dora Pejačević further reflect the breadth of her artistic work.
In 2012, Katharina Kegler founded the Musikfest Ebringen concert series, serving as its artistic and organisational director until 2016. Following a visiting professorship in piano, she has worked as a collaborative pianist at the Freiburg University of Music since 1992.
