Prof. Dr. h.c. Luisa Sello
Luisa Sello, defined by the New York Concert Review “excellent breath control, brilliant technical rendering, engaging intensity, sonorous range and abundance of charm” is a Flute Miyazawa Artist and an Ambassador of Music and Italian Culture, supported by the Italian Ministry of Culture.
Her international career includes collaborations with Teatro alla Scala di Milano, Riccardo Muti, Wien Symphoniker Orchestra, Thailand Symphony Orchestra, Trevor Pinnock, Alirio Diaz, Philippe Entremont, Bruno Canino, Karl Leister, Carnegie Hall, Juilliard School, Smetana Hall Praha, and many contemporary premières (Sciarrino, Clementi, Bischof).
After being Flute Professor for many years at the Academy of Music in Milano and Trieste (Italy), she is now Professor and super visor of the PHD in Flute Performance at the New Bulgarian University of Sofia (Bulgaria) where she also acts as a Miyazawa Brand Ambassador, fostering appreciation of Miyazawa flutes. Since 2023 she is the creator and the Artistic Director of the Moyse International Flute Competition.
Obteined ArtD in Flute Performance and PhD in Linguistic and Literary Sciences, Luisa studied in Paris with Raymond Guiot and Alain Marion, who proclaimed her “Superb,” in Rome with Conrad Klemm and at the Accademia Chigiana with Severino Gazzelloni, who remarked her “magnificent interpretive sensibility and excellent sound”.
She records for Stradivarius, Dynamic and Naxos, with the 'Naxos best award' in 2020'.

Ihre internationale Karriere umfasst Zusammenarbeiten mit dem Teatro alla Scala di Milano, Riccardo Muti, dem Wiener Symphoniker-Orchester, dem Thailand Symphony Orchestra, Trevor Pinnock, Alirio Díaz, Philippe Entremont, Bruno Canino, Karl Leister sowie Auftritte in der Carnegie Hall, der Juilliard School und im Smetana-Saal in Prag. Zudem wirkte sie an zahlreichen zeitgenössischen Uraufführungen mit (Sciarrino, Clementi, Bischof).
Nach vielen Jahren als Flötenprofessorin an den Musikakademien in Mailand und Triest (Italien) ist sie heute Professorin und Betreuerin des PhD-Programms für Flöte an der New Bulgarian University in Sofia (Bulgarien), wo sie auch als Miyazawa-Markenbotschafterin tätig ist und die Wertschätzung für Miyazawa-Flöten fördert. Seit 2023 ist sie zudem Gründerin und künstlerische Leiterin des Moyse International Flute Competition.
Sie erwarb einen ArtD in Flötenperformance sowie einen PhD in Sprach- und Literaturwissenschaften.
